Day 1: Arrival in Moshi
- Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).
- Transfer to a hotel in Moshi for orientation and equipment check.
- Overnight stay in Moshi.
Day 2: Rongai Gate to Simba Camp
- Transfer to Rongai Gate, complete park formalities, and meet your guides and porters from King Benny Adventures.
- Begin your trek through lush rainforest, arriving at Simba Camp.
- Overnight camping.
Day 3: Simba Camp to Second Cave Camp
- Trek through the moorland zone as the rainforest gives way to heath.
- Arrive at Second Cave Camp for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Second Cave Camp to Kikelewa Camp
- Continue your ascent into more alpine landscapes.
- Reach Kikelewa Camp for overnight camping.
Day 5: Kikelewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp
- Climb to Mawenzi Tarn Camp, where you’ll enjoy spectacular views of Mawenzi Peak.
- Overnight camping.
Day 6: Mawenzi Tarn Camp to Kibo Hut
- Proceed to Kibo Hut, the final camp before your summit attempt.
- Rest and prepare for the challenging climb ahead. Overnight camping at Kibo Hut.
Day 7: Summit Day – Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak and Descent to Horombo Hut
- Start your summit attempt at midnight, reaching Uhuru Peak at sunrise.
- Descend back to Kibo Hut and continue down to Horombo Hut.
- Celebrate your accomplishment with an overnight stay at Horombo Hut.
Day 8: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate and Return to Moshi
- Complete your descent to Marangu Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificates.
- Transfer back to your hotel in Moshi for a well-deserved rest and celebration. Overnight stay in Moshi.
Pricing Information
The estimated cost is approximately $2,550 per person for private groups starting from five participants. Larger groups may benefit from reduced rates. King Benny Adventures can tailor your safari package based on preferences, group size, and budget. Additional activities such as walking safaris or cultural visits can also be arranged.
